ZSSK will have a total of eight Class 561 EMUs

On 11 September 2025, ZSSK signed a contract with Stadler for two more KISSes. This is a confirmation of the option to the contract from April for two such units, which was the result of a tender announced in January 2025. Unit 561.105 is scheduled to enter passenger serivce in 2026 and 561.106 in 2027, when 561.107 and 108 should also be delivered. They will be deployed on the Bratislava - Žilina main line.
The financing of the purchase will primarily be secured from European sources through the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The total value of the project for all four units may exceed 100 million EUR.
