On 21 November 2014 at Praha hl. n. (main station) RegioJet and Siemens presented 193 214, the first of three machines RegioJet is to hire for its Bratislava - Košice services in Slovakia. The second photo shows Student Agency/RegioJet owner, Radim Jančura (on the right), and Czech Siemens’s Rail Systems Division and Mobility and Logistics Division Director, Roman Kokšal.
Since this type of Vectron had been granted approval for test commercial operation in Slovakia on 14 November 2014, it was then possible to move 193 214 there for further preparations to be made. It left Praha on 21 November piloting 162 116 hauling train IC 1011 Praha -Žilina, and is shown in the final photo of this series at Česká Třebová. It came off the train at Hranice na Moravě and ran light engine southwards to Bratislava. Here it was used for staff training over the weekend of 22/23 November. Afterwards it was to be used on RegioJet’s trains IC 1003/1010 between Žilina and Košice until the end of the 2014 timetable in mid-December.

  • Vectron MS Locomotives In The Czech Republic

The approval for test commercial service of the six Vectron MS electrics was validated on 11 November 2014. Overnight on 14/15 November ELL’s 193 214 was the first locomotive to use this, being moved from Linz to Horní Dvořiště and then travelling light engine to Praha. This is one of three machines RegioJet is to hire for its Bratislava - Košice services. On the 15th, 16th and 17th, it hauled RJ’s domestic Czech services, train IC 1007 from Praha to Havířov on 15 November being the very first of them - this photo shows it in Ostrava hl. n.
On 10 November 2014 sixteen Vectron DC locomotives were also granted approval for test commercial service on the Czech network, but only between three border stations (Petrovice u Karviné, Bohumín, Lichkov) and adjacent points of border, in service of DB Schenker Rail Polska.
On 14 November 2014 Vectron MS was granted approval for test commercial service in Slovakia.

Vectron MS Approved For Czech Test Operation

  • Vectron MS Approved For Czech Test Operation

On 7 November 2014 Drážní úřad granted six specific Vectron MS locomotives approval for test operation on the Czech network. The sextet includes those to be delivered to European Locomotive Leasing (ELL) over the coming weeks or months and to be hired to RegioJet for operation in Slovakia and to LTE. There is a 15-day period for appeals to be lodged by those involved following the announcement of the approval. Should there be none, the approval will be deemed valid.
The same day, by coincidence, the 50th Siemens built locomotive for a private operator in Austria was handed over at a ceremony held in CargoServ’s WESTbox in Linz, and it was Vectron AC 193 203 for ELL, now hired to LTE.
