As we described earlier, Stadler is currently working on an order for a total of 79 EMUs for the suburban transport systems Cercanías in Madrid and Rodalies in Barcelona.
History was made this month as the very first electric train ran north of Cardiff to Pontypridd during daylight hours.
14 March 2024: Thanks to effective partnership working with Greater Anglia and Rock Rail, Stadler has reached fleet acceptance for the 58 FLIRTs manufactured and supplied for the East Anglia network.

In December 2019 Adif awarded a consortium of Stadler and MerMec a 74.4 million EUR contract for three diagnostics trains, two EDMUs for use on the 1,668 mm gauge network, and one 1,435 mm gauge EDMU for use on the 1,435 mm gauge high speed network.
On 27 February 2024, Stadler and KiwiRail signed two locomotive contracts. The first one involves the delivery of nine SALi mainline locomotives, the second one includes the supply of 24 hybrid battery-diesel shunters.
On 15 February 2024 the State of California and Stadler have signed an agreement for delivery of six additional hydrogen trains.
On 21 February 2024 Stadler has been awarded the contract to supply up to 16 FLIRT AKKU BEMUs for Metra, to operate on its Rock Island Line.
ZSSK continues to modernise its fleet. On 15 February 2024 at 10.30 the first KISS EMU was put into regular operation at Nové Zámky in the presence of representatives of the Slovak Ministry of Transport and the management of Stadler and ZSSK.
On 29 January 2024, the first run of the EURO9000 in Belgium took place, from Aachen to the port of Zeebrugge.
On 8 February 2024, Alpha Trains signed a full-service maintenance agreement with Stadler.
On 5 February 2024, Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Stadler have signed contracts for the supply and the maintenance of the Next Generation Passenger Trains for the operation on the growing network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Stadler has finished building a new depot, which will accommodate the fleet of 46 METRO trains being manufactured for the Tyne and Wear Metro.
