On 29 November 2022, VR Group and Stadler signed a contract for the supply of 20 four-car FLIRT EMUs with a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

On 18 January 2023, VR-Yhtymä (VR Group) ordered nine double-decker sleeper cars ("kaksikerroksiset makuuvaunut", where the first word means "double-deck" in plural form, and the second  "sleeping cars") and eight double-deck car-carriers ("autovaunut") from Škoda Group.

On 18 April 2019, VR Group and Stadler signed a contract worth approximately 200 million EUR for the delivery of 60 diesel-electric locomotives, with an option for a further 100 and an additional option for a maintenance contract.

On 18 January 2023, VR ordered nine double-deck sleepers and eight car-carrier wagons worth around 50 million EUR from Škoda Transtech.
