On 9 October 2024, TMH announced that DMZ will build five Class EP2D EMUs by the end of November 2024 to renew the fleet of regional express trains of the TsPPK.
Taking into account the wishes of operators and in order to improve passenger comfort, the TMH Engineering centre has developed a non-powered intermediate car for the Class EP2DM EMUs with a toilet.
On 23 June 2023 DMZ celebrated production of 11,000th car for EMUs.

Demikhovsky mashinostroitelny zavod continues to develop its activities in repairs of Class EP2D EMUs. In 2021, it is planned to implement Type TR-3 („tekushchy remont“) periodic repairs.
On 5 March 2021, TMH signed the contracts with YuKZhD, a RZD subsidiary which carries out railway transportation in Armenia, for the supply of 27 passenger cars and two Class EP2D EMUs.
