On 4 March 2024, ČD, in cooperation with the Siemens Mobility and Škoda Group production consortium, started training employees on ComfortJet non-traction multiple units (NMUs).

In cooperation between the participating companies, DB Cargo, Innofreight and ArcelorMittal, the first test transport in a superstructures called DryTainer took place at the end of February 2024.

Siemens Mobility is investing 115 million EUR to establish a cutting-edge rail infrastructure manufacturing, digital engineering and research & development (R&D) centre in Chippenham, UK.

On 21 December 2023, ERA issued an approval for the T4000 pocket wagons from Tatravagónka so that the latter could subsequently start deliveries of a 200-strong batch to VTG. The first set of 15 wagons was shipped in January 2024, with the second set being transported to the customer in early February.

In December 2019 Adif awarded a consortium of Stadler and MerMec a 74.4 million EUR contract for three diagnostics trains, two EDMUs for use on the 1,668 mm gauge network, and one 1,435 mm gauge EDMU for use on the 1,435 mm gauge high speed network.

On 28 February 2024 CARGOUNIT, the largest independent Polish locomotive leasing company, has signed agreements with Siemens Mobility for the purchase of 10 Smartron locomotives a up to 90 Vectron MS locomotives, of which 30 have been called up.

On 27 February 2024, Stadler and KiwiRail signed two locomotive contracts. The first one involves the delivery of nine SALi mainline locomotives, the second one includes the supply of 24 hybrid battery-diesel shunters.

PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL has started using one Dragon 2 (Type E6MST) locomotive. 

HS2’s London tunnels programme passed a major milestone as the third tunnel boring machine (TBM) being used as part of the project was launched on 25 February 2024.

In mid-February Buckinghamshire Council gave the green light for HS2’s maintenance hub, which will bring around 300 jobs to Calvert in Buckinghamshire.

On 15 February 2024 the State of California and Stadler have signed an agreement for delivery of six additional hydrogen trains.

On 21 February 2024 Stadler has been awarded the contract to supply up to 16 FLIRT AKKU BEMUs for Metra, to operate on its Rock Island Line.

On 16 February 2024, Drážní úřad (DÚ, the Czech Railway Authority) issued a type approval for the Class 654, i. e. the Type Regio160 manufactured by PESA Bydgoszcz.
