On 13 March 2023, ERA issued approval for EURO9000 locomotives. It is valid for operation in Germany, and a week later approval for operation in Austria was issued, in the standard form of an Extended Area of Use (XAU).
On 17 January 2023 Stadler and Havelländische Eisenbahn (HVLE) signed a contract for the delivery of three additional EURODUAL locomotives.

One of the ELP EURODUALs, 159 207, started on 19 May test program in Austria. The reason is to undergo measurements of impact to the infrastructure, with the goal to achieve the approval for operation in this country. These tests are planned to last for about three weeks.
Following HVLE and ITL, three other German operators incorporated EURODUALs in their fleets in recent days.
As we already reported, on 17 February 2020 HVLE started test operation of its EURODUALs. More locomotives were dispatched to another two German operators.
